The Atlas of Asian Alcohol
More than a thousand makers of traditional spirits and fermented beverages, mapped across eight countries: every honkaku shochu and awamori distillery in Japan, the sool breweries of Korea, the great baijiu and huangjiu houses of China and Taiwan, the rượu craft villages of Vietnam, the lao khao distillers and folk spirits of Thailand, the lambanog and coconut spirits of the Philippines, the arak, tuak and island spirits of Indonesia, and the tuak, lihing and licensed toddy of Malaysia. Each country is its own atlas with a zoomable map, style filters, verified links and a print poster. Tap a country to enter.

How to use the atlasthe same controls in every country
01
Pick a country
Enter from the map or the cards. Every atlas speaks four languages; switch at the top right of its page.
02
Explore the map
Scroll to zoom, drag to pan. Region pills jump to a producing area; coloured chips filter by style; the tier toggle goes from the famous names to everything we have verified.
03
Open a maker
Tap any dot or index row: products, heritage honors, coordinates, a Google Maps deeplink and the maker's verified official site. Share links restore the exact pin.
04
Take it with you
Export all pins to Google Maps (KML), or get the A1 print poster of each country: the full survey with a numbered index.
Beta. The Atlas of Asian Alcohol is a work in progress. Some data (map locations, verified links, coverage) may be incomplete or imprecise, and will be corrected before full release. Coverage will also keep expanding to more countries across Asia.
