Tano Rewards Loyalty Program

K1. About Tano Rewards

Tano Rewards is the loyalty points program operated by Tanoshi Michi Pty Ltd (trading as Tano Spirits, ABN: 24 675 881 375) ("we", "us", "our"), holder of Victorian Producer's Liquor Licence No. 32812217 issued under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic). By participating in Tano Rewards, you agree to these terms and conditions. We may update these terms from time to time and will post the updated version on this page with the revised effective date.

Tano Rewards is available to all registered account holders on www.tanospirits.com who are 18 years of age or older. By enrolling in or earning Tano Points, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Participation in this program does not override or diminish our obligations, or your obligations, under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic) or any other applicable law.

K2. Tano Points Currency

The loyalty currency is called Tano Points (abbreviated as TP). Tano Points have the following value:

  • Redemption value: 1 TP = A$0.01
  • Base earn rate: 10 TP per A$1 spent on eligible purchases
  • Tano Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash, gift cards, or any form of monetary payment
  • Tano Points are non-transferable between accounts
  • Tano Points do not constitute property and confer no proprietary rights
  • Tano Points cannot be redeemed for free alcohol products under any circumstances

K3. How to Earn Tano Points

Purchase-based earning: You earn 10 Tano Points for every A$1 spent on eligible purchases across all Tano Spirits channels, including our online store, cellar door, and point-of-sale transactions. Points are calculated on the net amount paid after any discounts or redemptions are applied.

Membership tier earn rates: Paid membership tiers earn Tano Points at an accelerated rate:

  • Non-member: 10 TP per A$1 spent (base rate)
  • Koji Kin: 10 TP per A$1 spent
  • Moromi Maniakku: 15 TP per A$1 spent
  • Kura Master: 20 TP per A$1 spent
  • Genshu Gadian: 25 TP per A$1 spent
  • Tano Taibutsu: 30 TP per A$1 spent

Non-purchase activities: Tano Points may also be earned through the following activities:

  • Account registration: 100 TP (one-time)
  • First purchase: 250 TP bonus (one-time)
  • Birthday reward: 500 TP (annual, requires date of birth on file)
  • Newsletter subscription: 100 TP (one-time)
  • Cellar door tasting or tour attendance: 300 TP (per event, staff-awarded)
  • Fight Club event participation: 500 \u2013 5,000 TP (varies by event role, staff-awarded)

Membership welcome bonus: Paid membership subscribers receive a one-off Tano Points bonus on joining and on each annual renewal:

  • Koji Kin: 500 TP
  • Moromi Maniakku: 1,500 TP
  • Kura Master: 3,000 TP
  • Genshu Gadian: 7,500 TP
  • Tano Taibutsu: 20,000 TP (lifetime membership, one-time bonus)

Exclusions: Membership subscription fees do not earn Tano Points. Points are only earned on paid product purchases and eligible activities listed above.

K4. How to Redeem Tano Points

Tano Points may only be redeemed as a monetary discount applied to an eligible order. Points reduce the amount payable — they do not entitle the holder to free alcohol products. A minimum monetary payment is always required. The minimum redemption threshold is 500 TP (equivalent to A$5.00 off). Points must be redeemed in increments of 100 TP.

Discount redemption tiers:

  • 500 TP = A$5 off (minimum order A$25)
  • 1,000 TP = A$10 off (no minimum order)
  • 2,500 TP = A$25 off (minimum order A$80)
  • 5,000 TP = A$50 off (minimum order A$150)
  • Custom amounts in 100 TP increments are also available

Redemption limits: A maximum of 50% of the order subtotal may be covered by Tano Points in any single transaction. An order paid entirely with Tano Points is not permitted. If points and a membership discount are applied to the same order, the points redemption is calculated first, then purchase-based points are earned on the net amount paid.

Cellar door redemption: Points may also be redeemed at our cellar door point-of-sale by requesting staff to apply a loyalty discount before the sale is finalised. All cellar door redemptions are subject to responsible service of alcohol obligations.

K5. Experience Rewards

From time to time, we may offer non-alcohol experience rewards that can be redeemed using Tano Points. These may include:

  • Branded merchandise and accessories
  • Cellar door tasting experiences for you and a guest
  • Masterclass or educational event tickets
  • Other non-alcohol goods or experiences as advertised

Availability of experience rewards is subject to stock, scheduling, and capacity. We may amend or withdraw any experience reward at our discretion. Details of currently available experience rewards are displayed in your account portal.

For the avoidance of doubt: No reward under this program entitles the holder to receive alcohol products free of charge. All alcohol purchases require monetary payment in compliance with the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic).

K6. Points Expiry

Tano Points expire 24 months after your last qualifying account activity. Activity that resets the expiry clock includes: any eligible purchase, any points earn event, any points redemption, or any non-purchase bonus award.

We will send you a notification email approximately 90 days before your points are due to expire. It is your responsibility to redeem points before they expire. Expired points cannot be reinstated.

K7. Your Account and Points Balance

You can view your current Tano Points balance, earn rate, and transaction history by logging into your account at www.tanospirits.com and navigating to the Rewards tab. Points balances and history are sourced from our loyalty management system and may take up to 15 minutes to reflect recent transactions.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We are not liable for any unauthorised use of your account or points.

K8. Responsible Service of Alcohol

This loyalty program operates in full compliance with our Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy and the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic). The following principles apply:

  • The Tano Rewards program is not designed to encourage the rapid, excessive, or irresponsible consumption of alcohol
  • Points redemption is subject to responsible service of alcohol obligations at all times
  • We reserve the right to refuse any points redemption or sale where we reasonably believe it would be inconsistent with responsible service of alcohol, including where a person appears intoxicated or under 18 years of age
  • No reward or redemption under this program results in the free or unconditional supply of alcohol
  • The program does not offer incentives that are conditional on the volume or speed of alcohol consumption
  • Earn rates are applied uniformly per dollar spent — there are no bonus points for purchasing larger quantities of alcohol
  • Promotional communications regarding Tano Rewards will comply with the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) Code of Ethics and the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code (ABAC) Responsible Alcohol Marketing Code

K9. Program Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Tano Rewards program, or any aspect of it, at any time and at our sole discretion. This includes the right to change:

  • The earn rate (base or tier-specific)
  • The redemption value of Tano Points
  • Minimum redemption thresholds and order requirements
  • The available rewards catalogue
  • Non-purchase earn activities and their point values
  • Points expiry periods

If we terminate the program, we will provide reasonable notice (minimum 90 days) and allow you to redeem your accrued points during the notice period. Any points not redeemed within the notice period will be forfeited.

We may also be required to modify or terminate the program, or specific rewards, to comply with changes to the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic), directions from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC), or any other applicable legislation or regulatory direction.

K10. Membership Tier Changes

If your membership tier changes (upgrade, downgrade, or cancellation), your earn rate will be adjusted to reflect your new tier from the date of the change. Any points already earned at a previous tier rate will not be affected. Membership welcome bonuses are awarded once per membership period and are not refundable if the membership is cancelled.

K11. Privacy and Personal Information

Your participation in Tano Rewards is subject to our Privacy Policy. We collect and process personal information (including your purchase history, points balance, date of birth, and email address) for the purpose of administering the loyalty program. This data is stored in our customer management system and processed in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If you provide your date of birth for the birthday reward, this field is locked after it is set and cannot be changed to prevent program manipulation. You may request deletion of your loyalty data by contacting us, which will result in forfeiture of any accrued points.

K12. Fraud and Misuse

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your participation in Tano Rewards, forfeit accrued points, and close your account if we reasonably believe that you have:

  • Provided false or misleading information (including date of birth)
  • Engaged in fraudulent activity to accumulate or redeem points
  • Created multiple accounts to exploit earn bonuses
  • Manipulated purchases, returns, or referrals to artificially earn points
  • Breached these terms and conditions or any other Tano Spirits policy

K13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tano Spirits is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your participation in the Tano Rewards program, including but not limited to system errors, service interruptions, unauthorised account access, or loss of points due to expiry or program changes.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded by agreement.

K14. Age Restriction and Liquor Licensing

The Tano Rewards program is only available to persons aged 18 years or older. This program relates to the purchase and supply of alcohol, which is regulated under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic).

It is an offence to supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years. Participation in Tano Rewards requires a verified account on www.tanospirits.com, which is subject to our Age Verification Policy.

This program is operated under Victorian Producer's Liquor Licence No. 32812217. All sales and supply of alcohol through this program are subject to the terms of this licence and the conditions imposed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC).

K15. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, including the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic) and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Any disputes arising from or in connection with Tano Rewards will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
