Responsible Service of Alcohol

E1. Our Commitment

Tanoshi Michi Pty Ltd (trading as Tano Spirits) is committed to the responsible service and supply of alcohol. We acknowledge that alcohol, while a legal product enjoyed by many adults, carries associated risks and harms when misused. Our RSA Policy reflects our legal obligations and our ethical commitment to the wellbeing of our customers and the community.

E2. Legal Framework

This policy is informed by the following legislation and guidelines:

  • Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (Vic)
  • The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) guidelines
  • The National Drug Strategy
  • Australian Guidelines to Reduce Health Risks from Drinking Alcohol (NHMRC 2020)

E3. No Supply to Intoxicated Persons

Under Victorian law, it is an offence to supply liquor to a person who is drunk or intoxicated. While the online nature of our sales makes real-time intoxication assessment difficult, our delivery partners are instructed to refuse delivery to any person who appears to be intoxicated at the point of delivery.

E4. Alcohol and Health Messaging

In accordance with responsible service principles, we display the following information on our Website and where required on product pages:

  • The standard drink content of our products
  • Pregnancy and alcohol risk warnings
  • The National Alcohol and Other Drugs Helpline contact: 1800 250 015
  • Links to Drinkwise Australia (www.drinkwise.org.au)
  • The recommended NHMRC guidelines for low-risk drinking

E5. Responsible Promotion

Our marketing and promotional activities will not:

  • Target or appeal to persons under 18 years of age
  • Encourage rapid or excessive consumption of alcohol
  • Associate alcohol consumption with aggression, violence, or antisocial behaviour
  • Portray alcohol consumption as a solution to personal or social problems
  • Use images, language, or themes that would be inappropriate for a product restricted to adults

E6. Order Quantity Limits

We reserve the right to impose reasonable quantity limits on orders where we have concerns about potential misuse, supply to minors, or resale without appropriate authorisation. Suspicious purchasing patterns may be flagged and investigated.

E7. Staff Training

All staff involved in the sale and delivery of alcohol hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and comply with Victorian RSA requirements. Our RSA obligations are reviewed and updated in line with any changes to legislation or VCGLR guidance.
